Photographer Ismat Jahan started working as a professional photographer in 2001. She graduated from New York Institute of Photography in Professional Photography. She started her career as an Advertising Photographer but she is also interested in Portraiture and Nature Photography.
Ismat worked with a number of leading advertising agencies of Bangladesh. She does both Model photography and Product photography. Her photographs were used in the launching campaign of Pond's Daily Face Wash.

In April 2007 she held her second Solo Photography Exhibition titled ‘Aesthetic Beauty of Trees’ at Art & Soul Gallery in Dhaka. Her first Solo Photography Exhibition titled ‘Songs in Praise of Trees’ was held also in Dhaka at Shilpangan Gallery in 2004.
Ismat also participated in two group exhibitions; one was organized in March 2005 on the occasion of International Woman's Day. Another one was held in November 2006 on trekking to Keokradong, titled ‘Keokradong-er Pathey Pathey’, at the Zainul Gallery of the Charukala Institute of Dhaka University.
From October 2007 to January 2008, Ismat coordinated a project, 'Changing Images of Women in Bangladesh' for Pathways of Women's Empowerment (a project of BRAC University). Under this project, she organized four photography exhibitions and ten group discussions in four districts of Bangladesh, including Dhaka.
Furthermore, she is a regular contributor to Prakriti Photo, Nature and Wildlife Magazine. Her three articles on photography and one on traveling titled ‘Trekking to Keokradong: Highest Peak of Bangladesh’, were published in four issues of the magazine. Ismat also taught Basic Photography in Perdana College of Malaysia for one semester. Ismat is an MBA.
She is a professional and an optimist; she always tries to capture the positive side of life in her photographs.
